A 3rd generation University of Georgia graduate, Dr. Bobby Shirley received a Bachelor of Science in Biology before continuing his studies at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Shirley joined Distinctive Dentistry in 2005 and is dedicated dental professional and strives to learn and grow each year. He is also dedicated to helping Georgia grow and was selected for the Leadership Georgia program in 2013. Dr. Shirley remains an active member of Leadership Georgia. Additionally, Dr. Shirley is a member of the Georgia Dental Association, American Dental Association, Hinman Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
He and his wife, Tish, have two sons: Mac and Graham. When he’s not at the office, he loves spending time with his family, and loves combining exercise and being outdoors with activities like skiing and golf. He and his family are active members of North Metro Church.

Clay Cannon, DMD
Dr. Clay Cannon joined Distinctive Dentistry in June of 2018 following Dr. Bickford’s retirement. After graduating from Clemson University with a degree in business management, Dr. Cannon went on to pursue his lifelong desire to become a dentist, attending the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Prior to joining Distinctive Dentistry, Dr. Cannon practiced as an associate for five years while searching for a practice to call his own. He is an active member of the American Dental and Georgia Dental Associations.
Clay and his wife Christina, and two girls, Emma and Ella, reside in East Cobb in the same area he was raised. He enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, gardening, and personal fitness.

Jack Bickford, DDS
Dr. Jack Bickford is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Dentistry and served two years as a dentist in the United States Army. He is very involved in the dental community as a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Bickford is also active in the Thomas P. Hinman Dental Society. He serves on local and national committees for many of his professional organizations.
In 2009, Dr. Bickford received the Georgia Dental Association Honorable Fellow award. He is also a fellow of the American College of Dentists and a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy dental honor society. Dr. Bickford is a past president of both the West Georgia Dental Study Club and the Southeastern Professional Study Club and is a founding member of the Lost Mountain Dental Study Club. He was named one of Atlanta’s top dentists by Atlanta magazine in 2010. Dr. Bickford enjoys bringing his patients the latest in dental technology. The practice of dentistry is constantly evolving and knowing what is available for the patient is extremely important.
Dr. Bickford has deep roots in the Paulding community and has taken great pride in many leadership roles. He is a past director of the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce and is a past president of the Paulding County Civitans. He also served as chairman of the Wellstar Paulding Hospital advisory board. Dr. Bickford was the first chairperson of the United Way of Paulding County. He was also a founding board member of a local food bank, Helping Hands of Paulding County. He and his wife Molly are active members of Dallas First United Methodist Church. They have one married daughter and three grandsons.
When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Bickford enjoys mountain biking, golf and playing the guitar for his grandsons.
